Η Παροικία γιόρτασε και φέτος τα Αγια Πάθη και την Ανάστησιν του Σωτήρος με ακόμη μία ευχή. Λευτεριά στην Κύπρο μας.

Χιλιάδες πιστών κατέκλυσαν τους ναούς για να γιορτάσουν και φέτος το Πάσχα.
Μικροί και μεγάλοι συνεχίζουν τα ήθη και έθιμα με το ψήσιμο της φλαούνας η του τσουρεκιού το βάψιμο των αυγών και άλλων εθίμων του Πάσχα .
Η παροικία κατέκλυσεν τους ναούς ειδικά την Μεγάλη Πέμπτη και Παρασκεύη για να παρακολουθήσουν τις συνταρακτικές ακολουθείες των Αγίων και Τιμίων Παθών του Σωτήρος, και το Μεγάλο Σάββατον να γιορτάσουν το Χαρμόσυνο Γεγονός της Αναστάσεως.
Σε πολλές εκκλησίες όπου το επέτρεψεν ο καιρός την Μεγάλη Παρασκευή έγινε η περιφορά του Επιταφίου στους δρόμους.
Στη εκκλησία Αγίου Δημητρίου στο Εντμοντον άνω των 5 χιλιάδων πιστών παρέστησαν στην ακολουθεία της Μεγάλης Παρασκευής και μεταξύ των προσκεκλημένων ήσαν οι Andy Love M.P. for Edmonton,
Ο δήμαρχος του Ενφιλτ Ελευθέριος Σάββα, οι Δημοτικοί Σύμβουλοι Ανδρέας Κωνσταντινίδης, Γιώργος Σάββα, Chris Joannides,
και πολλοί άλλοι επίσημοι.
Αισθητή ήτο και η παρουσία πολλών νέων που έιναι κάτι το ενθαρρυντικό για το μέλλον της παροικίας μας και του Ελληνισμού γενικώτερα.
Στη Εκκλησία της Παναγίας στο Wood Green μεταξύ των επισήμων προσκεκλημένων παρών ήτο και ο δημοτικός σύμβουλος Enfield Πάμπος Χαραλάμπους και υποψήφιοs των Εργατικών στο Enfield Southgate.
Ολοι ευχύθηκαν το Χρόνια Πολλά, Χριστός Ανέστη και Λευτεριά στη Κύπρο μας.

The Easter was celebrated in style during the Holy week.
Thousands of worshippers attended the Holy week Services

Thousands of worshippers attended the Holy week Services and about 5 thousand people attended the Good Friday service at the Greek Orthodox Church of St Demetrios where the the Epitaphios was paraded along the Streets of Edmonton in Town Road , Logan Road, Ranworth Road, Monmouth Road N9
The Good Friday Service saw in attendance among other guests Andy Love M.P, the Mayor of Enfield Eleftherios Savva, Cllrs Andreas Constantinides , George Savva , Chris Joannides and many other dignitaries.
The Service was conducted by father Kyprianos, father John Hookway, and Deacon Angelos,
Father Kyprianos welcomed the guests and wished everyone a Happy Easter.
He explained the meaning of Easter and the message it sends.
It is one of the biggest Feast in the Greek Orthodox Christian if not the most important one and it is celebrated with the Rise of Christ with barbeques and the festivities end on Tuesday
The parade took place peacefully without any incidents, and on Saturday the service lasted until 3. a.m. the following day.
The Greek Cypriot community in Enfield is one of the largest in north London and the Community of St Demetrios in Edmonton was established in the early 70s.
